Plain language. Trust-based. 100% to you.
This agreement is between Art 4 AU Love US (operated by D. Christmas, Atlanta, Georgia) and the person or people who submit artwork to the platform — referred to below as "you" or "the artist."
Art 4 AU Love US welcomes artists of all ages. Because autistic and neurodivergent people experience the world in different ways, we've built in three ways to hold an account:
You're 18 or older and managing your own presence on the platform. You submit your own work, handle your own communications, and receive payment directly.
The artist is a minor (under 18). A parent or legal guardian manages the account, handles communications, and receives payment on the artist's behalf. The artwork is still credited to the artist.
The artist is an adult who wants or needs support managing their account — a family member, caregiver, or trusted person. No legal documentation is required. We work on a trust basis. The artwork is always credited to the artist, and the artist's preferences guide every decision.
If you're not sure which path fits, just email us at [email protected] and we'll figure it out together.
Submitting your work to Art 4 AU Love US does not transfer ownership of your art to us. Not any of it. Not ever.
By submitting, you give us permission to display your work on the site, share it on our social media channels in connection with your artist profile, and use it in promotional materials for Art 4 AU Love US (such as a press mention or a feature post). That's a license to display and promote — not ownership.
You keep all rights to your work. You can sell it elsewhere, license it elsewhere, remove it from our platform, or do anything else with it that you want. Our license ends the moment your work is removed from the site.
One practical note: if your work sells through a buyer who found it here, that sale is between you and the buyer. We're not a party to it and we take nothing from it.
By submitting, you confirm that the work is yours to share — that you created it, or have the right to submit it on behalf of the artist, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's copyright or rights.
Art 4 AU Love US does not take a commission. Ever.
When someone wants to purchase your work, we connect them with you directly — by email or through the contact information you provide. The sale happens between you and the buyer. The money goes to you. We don't touch it, process it, or take a percentage.
We keep the lights on through voluntary site support from people who believe in the mission. That support is separate from artist sales and has no effect on how your work is displayed, featured, or treated on the platform.
A note on taxes: When you sell art, that income is generally taxable. We're not tax advisors and we don't provide tax guidance — but it's worth knowing that sales you make through inquiries originating here are your income to report. If you have questions about selling art and taxes, the Resources section of this site has a primer to get you started.
We keep this list short on purpose. The platform runs on trust, and we don't want to drown it in rules.
D. Christmas, who founded and runs Art 4 AU Love US, is also an artist whose work appears in the gallery. That's worth naming directly.
His work receives no priority in featuring, placement, or promotion. The same rules that apply to every artist on this platform apply to him — including this one: if a conflict of interest ever arises between his role as site operator and his role as an artist, the interests of the other artists on the platform come first.
If you ever feel that's not happening, email us and say so. That feedback matters.
You can ask to have your work removed from the platform at any time, for any reason. No explanation required.
Email [email protected] with the subject line "Remove my work" and we'll process the removal within 7 days. Once removed, your work will no longer appear on the site, in search, or in any active promotional materials we control.
We may also remove work without notice if it violates the terms in Section 4 — specifically, if it contains content that isn't appropriate for the platform's audience or if it's determined to infringe someone else's rights. If this happens, we'll tell you why.
Art 4 AU Love US is a small independent platform run on a shoestring. We do our best to keep the site up, accurate, and working well — but we can't guarantee it.
We are not liable for lost sales, missed opportunities, technical failures, or any damages that result from your work being displayed (or not displayed) on this platform. Our total liability to you in any situation is $0.
We know that sounds cold in writing. In plain terms: we're not going to disappear your art or treat you carelessly. But we're also not in a position to make financial guarantees we can't back up.
If something goes wrong — technically, relationally, anything — email us first. Most things can be fixed by talking to a person.
If we need to make meaningful changes to this agreement, we'll notify artists at least 30 days before the changes take effect. We'll do that by email (if you've provided one) and by posting a notice on this page.
Minor changes — fixing typos, clarifying language without changing the meaning — may happen without notice, but we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top so you can see something changed.
If a change doesn't work for you, you can remove your work before it takes effect and we'll have no hard feelings.
The most current version of this agreement always lives at art4auloveus.com/artist-agreement.html.
If anything in this agreement doesn't make sense, doesn't feel right, or doesn't cover your situation — reach out. We'd rather talk it through than have you agree to something you don't understand.
